Naomi is a Research Associate with CEEM and the School of Photovoltaics and Renewable Energy Engineering, UNSW. She collaborates with industry and government to improve our understanding of Distributed Energy Resource (DER) behaviour in the field and aims to support appropriate policy change. Naomi’s research interests include: Data driven understanding of DER behaviour in the field with a focus on solar PV systems, Implications of DER behaviour for power system security, Policy and regulatory evolution to enable electricity industry transition including appropriate integration of DER, and Coordination and collaboration to support decentralisation of the electricity industry. Naomi has been working the in the renewable energy industry since 2010. Prior to undertaking her doctorate, Naomi worked with AECOM in the Sydney Renewable Energy team. In this role Naomi delivered advisory, due diligence and modelling services to a broad range of clients. Naomi was awarded the 2018 AIE Youth Scholarship. In May-June 2019 she travelled to Hawaii, California, Colorado and the UK to meet with stakeholders from 24 organisations to investigate DER integration mechanisms internationally.
