Mahsa Saghaei is a PhD. candidate with CEEM at UNSW specializing in the optimization of Net Zero Carbon targets for large commercial, residential, and institutional buildings in Australia. Her research addresses the optimization challenges faced by building owners and operators as they adapt to the increasingly dynamic nature of energy generation, distribution, and usage. Drawing upon a continuously updated database of energy, weather, and IoT data from hundreds of buildings managed by Buildings Alive, Mahsa's work aims to analyze the real-world energy and carbon implications of this unique dataset.
Mahsa holds Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Industrial Engineering from Islamic Azad University (IAU). She brings valuable professional experience as an R&D expert, logistics and supply chain specialist, production planning expert, and industrial consultant in various service-based and manufacturing industries. Additionally, she was awarded a fully-funded scholarship for the Powerful Women Leadership Program by the Australian Power Institute.
